Talking about the difference between alkaline batteries and carbon batteries

Time:2020-08-12 09:45:00

As we all know, China is a big battery consumer and a big battery producer; but China is not a strong country in battery production and consumption.

Among the disposable batteries produced and consumed in China, the alkalization rate is only 25%, which is a huge difference compared with 80% in developed countries. The alkalinization rate represents the development stage and rationality of a country's battery consumption. So what is the difference between alkaline batteries and carbon batteries? Except professionals, most people still can't tell how big the difference is. Let's spread some common sense about alkaline batteries.

Mainly in the following three aspects:

一、Performance

To put it simply, alkaline batteries and carbon batteries are that alkaline batteries are much more durable than carbon batteries, and carbon batteries are much more widely used than alkaline batteries. Carbon batteries have a small capacity and are suitable for small structures and principles. Current discharge, can be used on clocks, remote controls.

Alkaline batteries have large capacity and are suitable for large current discharge conditions, such as cameras. Of course, the time used on clocks and remote controls is much more durable than carbon batteries, and it is not as easy to "running" and corrode other parts like carbon batteries, so now more alkaline batteries are used.

二、Weight

Generally speaking, due to the different structures and internal materials of alkaline batteries and carbon batteries, alkaline batteries are generally heavier than carbon batteries. Taking alkaline batteries as an example, large batteries are usually ≥135g and size 2 batteries ≥65g. AA battery ≥22.5g, AA battery ≥10.8g, 9V battery ≥45g, and carbon battery will be much lighter.

三、Shelf life

Generally, the shelf life of alkaline batteries far exceeds the shelf life of carbon batteries. The newspaper period of normal carbon batteries is one to two years. And now the newspaper period of mainstream alkaline battery manufacturers has reached 5 years, or even longer reached 7 years.
